[adaptivetec] Re: GPS apps

Audrey,

A couple of apps come immediately to mind, and the good news is they won't
break the bank:

 1. Sendero Lookaround: Made by the same folks responsible for gps on the
braillenote products, this is a stripped down app, offering nearby
intersections, points of interest by category, current address. It costs $5,
and I find it very useful in both semi-familiar and unknown territory, but it
won't give you turn by turn.
 2. Navigon: Costs $30-50; can't remember exact price. Better for entering
address destinations and following turn by turn routes
 3. Ariadne: This app offers a form of virtual navigation, but I'm on the
fence, because it's been acting funky since I upgraded to the latest iOS. I
believe it costs around $30.

You might also want to look into transit-related apps, if you need to keep
track of bus/light rail.

Subject: [adaptivetec] GPS apps

Hi all,

I just received some financial aid to purchase GPS applications for the IPhone.
Does anybody have suggestions of good applications to use with voiceover? I
would appreciate any suggestions you might have.

Thanks.

Audrey
