[adaptivetec] Re: GMail with Outlook Express?

Hello Erin,
Yes it's possible to setup your Outlook Express to use with GMail.
It's a bit of a process and I'm going to outline the steps below.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

1. Log into your GMail account.
2. Do not click the "basic html" link. Instead, locate the word "settings." It is a link, however, screen readers will not recognize it as a link. If you are using Jaws, route the Jaws cursor to the word "settings" and left click on it. 3. Next, GMail will bring up a list of links for different settings. One of it is called "forwarding and pop." Again, this is a link, but screen readers will not recognize it as a link. Again, route the Jaws cursor to it and left click on it. 4. Now you should be at a page to configure your GMail for Pop access. When you have done that, click the "save" button, and sign out of GMail.

Now, you have to configure your Outlook Express to use GMail.
You can do this in 1 of 2 ways.
GMail has an autoconfiguration tool. It will automatically configure your Outlook Express for you.
This is easier of the 2 ways.
If you want, you can search for it on Google, or email me and I'd be happy to send you the tool.
Or you can do it manually.
Hope this helps.

Shen

Hi, Everyone,

I have used Hotmail since I first began using a PC. I'm getting sick and tired of their constant changes, though. I've had a GMail account for a while, but now I'm thinking of using it as my primary address. Can anyone on here tell me how to configure GMail with Outlook Express, more specifically how to enable to pop setting? It appears it's impossible to change the settings without sighted assistance.

Hope someone can help me!

Erin
