Can you spot pet abuse?
Decatur Animal Services to conduct class on cruelty identification
By Paul Huggins

Photos of one of the most gruesome acts of animal abuse Miles Naylor has ever seen remain in his desk at Decatur Animal Services.

The city’s animal cruelty investigator said the photos, which include a dead dog that was eaten by starving puppies, remind him of why he does his job and why the community needs more education about how to spot and report animal abuse.

Naylor on Tuesday will offer his first class, an informal discussion about the do’s and don’ts residents should be aware of when they suspect animal cruelty, and he expects there will be enough interest to offer more classes each week through February.
