The Woolly Pen is a fun product. It includes a hook and loop (velcro) base
(rough side) and wool yarn with pencil-like dispensers called bobbins. As you
draw, the yarn catches in the backing to make a tactile drawing. The yarn is
removed when you are finished and is re-usable. It is great for temporary
drawings, kids' art projects, or quick on-the-spot diagrams in geometry class.
The kit also includes several basic shapes with hook and loop tape on the back
that can be added to a drawing. You can make your own shapes and symbols to
add, as well. It is a great way for kids to be able to express themselves and
"show" something quickly. It is also handy for teachers with students who are
blind/visually impaired in their classrooms- a quick and easy tactile graphic
can be made available to the student for on-the-spot communication.
In the US, Optelec is the Quantum distributor- www.optelec.com
