[accessibleimage] Re: tactile perception of currency notes and bonds etc

Ann, just on UK currency notes, which are relatively easy to tell apart.....

With your middle finger slightly bent inwards, rest the long side of the currency note against the joint between the finger and the palm. Take a mental note about where the top edge of the note comes to. For me a £5 note reaches the bottom of the top middle finger joint, a £10 note reaches the top of that joint and a £20 note reaches slightly beyond the end of my middle finger. Obviously this will work a bit differently for each person.

Vince.

Subject: [accessibleimage] tactile perception of currency notes and bonds etc

Hi everyone
Can anyone give me information about tactile perception of banknotes in any
currency? Also tactile perception of official and secure documents like
bonds.

Also how does one go about teaching people with no useful sight how to
differentiate banknotes?

Best wishes
Ann
