As far as the representation of tactile graphics for currency, simple outlines with a brailled number of denomination for paper money and the usage of manipulatives/actual coins for coin money would be the likely way it would be handled for textbooks/tests. There wouldn't be a tactile rendering of Ben Franklin's profile, for example. Grade level is key, with more labels as the child moves from 3rd grade on up. I don't personally know the technique, but I believe a folding/location method is used to differentiate actual banknotes. ---Michael Sell >>> anngardiner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 03/03/08 08:08AM >>> Hi everyone Can anyone give me information about tactile perception of banknotes in any currency? Also tactile perception of official and secure documents like bonds. Also how does one go about teaching people with no useful sight how to differentiate banknotes?
