Hello Lisa and list:
I just read Lisa's list. I thought that the Thiel embossers were no
longer in production except for the Impacto. Am I correct?
Regards,
Robert Jaquiss
P. S.
My Thiel Beta X3 was a wonderful machine, and I was sad when it finally
died and I couldn't get new parts.

Hi Lori,
Enclosing a list of Braille embosser that I got from Qiktac's list. It is
not complete. In addition there are ViewPlus Braille embossers.
I have used/use Everest, Juliet, VersaPoint and Tiger. You can do a lot
with all of them. One's requirements decides a lot.
As far as I can tell, Braille embossers can be divided into two groups and
you can get a lot of joy from both types.
1. embossers with graphic mode e.g. Everest, Juliet etc.
Graphic mode means that the embossing cells can be moved a bit closer to
each other, so that they emboss closer together
Mostly use special programs to produce graphics eg QikTac, PictureBraille
2. ViewPlus embossers - Windows . Embosses out anything that works with
Windows
In addition one can of course make graphics with a Perkins and other
non-graphic mode Braille Embossers, but this is much more time consuming
and one is limited as to the resolution. But I assume you were thinking
more about other types.
Braille Bookmaker
Braille Express
Braillo - comet (note: in the QikTac list mentions just Braillo. In an
earlier list it mentioned Braillo - Comet. Here I believe it is only
Braillo Comet that has a graphic mode. I believe the Comet is out of
production)
ET
Index ( Everest, others?)
Julet
Moutbatten
Picture Thiel
Romeo
Thiel
VersaPoint
Best,
Lisa

Hi,
I've been asked to locate information about embossers which can produce
tactile graphics. Written published or personal accounts would be helpful.
Thanx,
Lori
