Dear John and Ike,
Thank you both for this very interesting discussion. I have always been
a visual person though I am totally blind. It seems to me that I grasp
things better if I can picture them in my mind.
While growing up I had no access to any tactile images. I am slowing
learning to identify more complex pictures. It has been taking me a
while to learn and completely understand the grahpical organizers my
instructor used in her demonstration lessons the past two semesters.
A graphical organizer is a "picture" representative of the connections
in a text. I know this explanation is more than brief but I fear a more
detailed description would not do for this list at this time.
I agree with John, having a copy of the organizer I am using will be a
good idea but what I think my instructor wants me to do is have a copy
which is filled out with the information that my student is seeing.
Thanks for the information you have both provided me. I'll have to work
on this problem some more.
I'm happy this list is there so I can ask questions when they come up.
Janet
All kids need is a little help, a little hope and somebody who believes
in them.
