[accessibleimage] Re: Wikipedia and accessible images

Hi Lisa,
The two Wikipedia entries that you provided links for look like good places to start. Quite often, I find myself having to explain the difference between accessible images and tactile graphics.

I think I have spotted a minor typo on one of the pages --

As copied from the Wikipedia Tactile Graphics page that you provided the link for: "Tactile graphics are images that uses ..."
should be "Tactile graphics are images that use ..." (no s on the end of use)

Subject: [accessibleimage] Wikipedia and accessible images

Hi,

I have started a couple of articles in Wikipedia about accessible images and tactile graphics. Wikipedia is a free online encyclopeida, where anyone can add text, articles, etc . So here can be one more way of spreading information about accessible images. So hope you will join me with adding information. There can be articles about all aspects, art, maps, museums, production, design, photo etc etc.

I have added two short texts to get started.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accessible_Images
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactile_graphic

Note, once you have added a text anyone can come and change it, update it.
I think this could be a very good service to those trying to learn about visual impairments and images.

What do you think?

All the best,
Lisa
