Hi Steve, I don't know if this is quite the type of thing you are
looking for but the Museum of Outdoor Arts owns a tactile fairy tale.
It is in seven panels and tell the story of the Raven by the Brothers
Grimm. Each panel is two feet high and two or three feet wide. Each is
made out of slate, ceramic, wood, bronze and gold and silver leaf which
makes each element in the picture easy to distinguish tactually or
visually. The story is told in three formats, large print, Braille or
narration with music on tape.
The museum is located in Englewood, Colorado. Ann

perception?
Hi,
I am looking for references to museum and exhibits that include
touchable
3-dimensional models or sculptures, especially if these include audio
description of parts of the exhibit that are touched. For example, I
know
that at the ONCE Museum in Madrid, there are beautiful tactile models
of
famous Spanish buildings, and visitors are invited to touch them. On
some
of the models, there are buttons in various places, and if you press
them,
you hear a verbal description of the part of the model near the button.
Does anyone know of other examples of this or similar things? I would
really appreciate the information.
Thanks,
Steve Landau
