[accessibleimage] TeDUB

Hi, Folks!

Have you (especially Lisa) ever heard of Technical Drawings Understanding =
for the Blind (TeDUB)? =20

According to the web site (URL below):=20

"The TeDUB project began on October 1st 2001. TeDUB stands for "Technical =
Drawings Understanding for the Blind". The IST Research Framework of the =
European Commission funds this important project. The project will run for =
3 years.

The project is co-ordinated by the department of the University of Bremen, =
which specialises in image processing. The project has partners from the =
Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom. These =
partners represent user organisations, research departments and commercial =
producers of assistive devices and technologies.=20

The TeDUB project is developing a system that will automatically generate =
descriptions of certain classes of graphics (electronic circuit diagrams, =
UML diagrams and architectural plans) and allow blind people to explore =
them independently. This system has great potential in work, education and =
leisure domains to open up independent access to graphic material for =
blind people."
