Tactile Graphics 2005

The third international conference on tactile diagrams, maps and pictures.
Hosted by RNIB National Centre for Tactile Diagrams.
Call for papers
Tactile graphics are images which are touched rather than looked at. They
help blind and partially sighted children and adults in their learning,
work and life activities.
This international event brings together a wide range of people involved
in the design, production, procurement, use and support of tactile
graphics. This will include transcribers and designers, end-users,
educators, mobility officers, disability support staff, researchers,
technology developers and printers, cartographers, arts and heritage
organisations, government and public bodies, access consultants,
rehabilitation workers, architects, building contractors, and signage
companies, among others.
This two-day conference and exhibition, with optional pre-conference
workshops, covers techniques, applications and literacy development
(sample topics listed below).

Presentation/workshop: we?re seeking abstracts for 40-minute presentation
slots and/or 3-hour pre-conference workshops. Closing date for abstract
submission is Monday 8 August.
Exhibition table: as presenter or attendee you can also showcase your work
in the exhibition area.
Attendance: come to learn more, to network, and to expand your horizons.
