Hi Don,
We used the saw-tooth line on some of our subway maps years back, and it was
quite intuitive for people, in terms of indicating direction. However, many
people thought it was important to show the shape of a conventional visual
arrow. Personally, I like the idea of maintaining the sawtooth within the
conventional shape. It teaches the shape, while drawing the tactile reader
right to the head of the arrow.
