Hello:
I recall going through the Tactile Dome. It was an interesting
experience. Since I am totally blind, it wasn't much of a challenge to get
through. If I recall correctly, you crawled up a passage using a fish net
and rope for hand holds. In corners were cold pipes and other things to
touch. You then slid down a passage, and landed on the "bouncing floor".
This was a large air filled cushion that was pressurized by a large fan.
After more crawling, you fell into a huge box of beans. This was probably 5
or seven feet square, and filled at least a foot deep with beans. After the
first time through, the group sat in the entrance room, and talked about
their experiences. You could go through the maze several times in the
alotted 90 minutes. One thing all participants had to do was to take off
their shoes. Now that I think of this exhibit, it must have been a mess to
clean.
Regards,
Robert
