Touch Graphics makes and sells the National Geographic Talking Tactile Atlas
of the World, which is an application for the Talking Tactile Tablet (known
as the TTT or T3). The Atlas includes 43 printed and thermoformed maps, and
was produced in collaboration with National Geographic Maps. You place the
maps on the TTT, which connects to a PC via USB, and then explore maps with
touch sense and/or vision. Then, you press down more firmly on any city,
river, ocean or landmass to hear its name. You can also access a main menu
of options, which includes: an alphabetical index of every place shown on
the maps; a distance calculator; facts about every country; history; and
settings. There's even a World Tour Game that you can play against the
computer or up to three other people, where you have to find destinations as
you travel along a route that the computer randomly generates. It's quite
fun and challenging. Please contact me if you want more info, or go to our
web page at http://www.touchgraphics.com/atlas.htm.
Thanks,
Steve Landau
