The TTT is so simple to use that if you had one it is easy to make all sorts
of other pictures. At the Colorado Center for the Blind art class we are
exploring how to self advocate for accessible reference materials. I have
just contacted a scrap booking club and asked if they would be interested in
meeting at the library to figure out how we might be able to work together
toward this goal. I have a TTT and plan on making that a part of this
project. I will let you know how this goes.
I have found that students have a great time creating and programming their
own maps for areas or buildings they know. I am also going to work with the
travel instructors at the Center on a downtown Littleton street map.

I agree that perhaps a school district could afford the TTT but it's quite a
price for an individual who simply needs some maps, no? Kind of like buying
a Hummer when all you need to do is get back and forth to work.

True, Susan, if all you want is maps, but the Talking Tactile Tablet does so
much more than maps, and can be programmed to create all kinds of tactile
graphics - well worth the cost for a school district!
...and no, I am not being paid for this plug! ;-)

Golly bum, Steve, and no offense but spending $19 for a book of 33 tacs of
an atlas sure beats almost $1000 for equipment and the maps. Yikes!
