[accessibleimage] Re: Smartboards,Mimio

We have used mimios to capture content from the whiteboard and transmitted
it to students with low vision. The handwriting conversion was not very
successful, it may have improved since we tried it. The main issue was that
we needed 3 mimios to cover the whiteboard. Each covered a 8 x 8 section and
the fuculty had to be careful not to to write over sections as each section
created a separate file.

Hi Lisa,

I know that they both have been used successfully in the States for some
students with low vision. I have a Smartboard, but have never been able to
get the handwriting recognition software to work adequately to use it with
someone who is blind.
