Hi Lisa,
I'm not that knowledgeable about embedding sounds in SVG files. I can
only suggest that you have a look at the ViewPlus SVG viewer which is a
free download from the ViewPlus site, it should be able to read the text
components of your image without a screen reader, and might be
appropriate for your current need.

You will need to register with the site to download it, but once you
have, you can download other sample images to try with it.

Hi Dave,
Since the maps are for the screen I wasn't thinking about a screen
reader.
But that of course should be considered.
Yeah I have heard about the text label and thought about that because of
a
limitation there seems to be with the number
of wav files I could have in one svg file. I'm not sure if this is
correct, but seemed only able to get in 21 wav files. Seemed
a bit strange. Googled a bit to see if others had also found this. So
still unsure if this is a restriction or a mistake I am making.
Do you have any idea?
Could you send me an example of the text label or a link about it?
Thanks,
Lisa
