[accessibleimage] Question about performing arts training for a blind woman

Greetings colleagues,

I am trying to find out if there is any financial assistance available to
pay for tuition and living expenses for a blind woman who would like to
attend England's College for the blind. She is interested in the performing
arts program.

The web site is:

The Royal National College for the Blind

www.rncb.ac.uk

This young woman has experienced discrimination in a mainstream community
college when trying to enroll, so she wants to be in a setting where her
blindness will not be viewed as disqualifying her. If you know of an
equivalent college or community college level program in the United States
or Canada for blind adults who
want to obtain training and a degree in the performing arts in a setting
that is particularly friendly to blind people, please let me
know.

In addition to trying to find some information for this young woman, I have
recommended to her that she sign up for the CareerConnect program and find a
mentor who has experience in the performing arts.

Nevertheless, I still would appreciate hearing any ideas you have, so I can
be more helpful to others who are interested in training for the performing
arts.

Thank you in advance for whatever information you may have.

Best regards,

Sylvie
