Hi Lisa,
I think that part of the reason we feel like tapping our feet to music, or
moving our hands, etc. is related to the fact that musical and other
rhythmical sounds can have real influence on many body functions, including
on our heart beat and breathing too. It can also strongly affect mood, and I
believe I remember that some research has shown that music can even have
influence on how we shop! Reproducing part of what we are hearing may also
help us remember, as you suggest.

Subject: [accessibleimage] Question
Hi,
Okay, I am totally unmusical so please excuse this question
I was wondering if when we tap our feet to music is it not somehow
similar to how when we see something one has an urge to hold and examine
it. That is that the one sense pushes one to do another action to
"remember" better what we see or hear?
Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Lisa
