I would just like to mention that  a tactile map (Tiger)  that I sent into
Avenza's 2005 MAPublisher Map Competition
 was voted as a Notable Entry in the Special Purpose Category.

Mapulisher is a GIS plugin for Illustrator. I find it very handy.
