[accessibleimage] New webpage resource called Think! on the BlindArt webpage

Blind Art are launching a new
one-stop shop webpage titled Think! for news, research and resources on the
subject of blindness and art, and need your help. We would particularly like to
publish letters, articles, papers and other relevant material, resources and
links in the following areas of interest:

-
Information on events and activities

-
News stories

-
Research papers, either new, old or classic on
art and blindness

-
Papers on pieces of art that do not rely solely
on vision

-
Papers and resources in the field of curation
and education in galleries who provide access for visitors who are blind and
visually impaired

-
Papers, resources, lesson plans and schemes of
work in the field of teaching art to students who are blind and visually
impaired

-
Podcasts of resources, readings and papers

-
Sound art

These papers and links to
published material can be by first time writers or contributors, or experienced
academics or practitioners. The language of the material that you wish to
submit should be in English, and the papers and articles available as either a
sound file recognised by multiple platforms (such as .mpeg or .wmv), Word
document or RTF. Material should also be a maximum of 1000 words for
non-academic material and 3500 words for academic material that is yet to be
published – this of course does not apply to links to existing material.

The material will then be
converted to PDF format or relevant sound documents for publication. Although
we have no strict editorial criteria, material should not contain offensive,
slanderous or illegal material. You should also own copyright of any material
you send – although this does not apply to the links -, which you shall retain.
The material must also be suitable for our audience, of a decent quality and
clarity, and highly relevant to the field. Although we are not elitist, we aim
to present a professional, high standard of work.

Work should be sent as an
attachment to our email address below, although we cannot review them outside
of the months of July/August, December or April, during our school
holidays/vacations,
when they can be given the fullest attention. As you can appreciate, time is at
a premium.
