ICA Commission on Maps and Graphics for Blind and Partially Sighted People:
Conference Announcement & Deadline Extension

Organisers of the XXIII International Cartographic Conference (ICC), to be
held in Moscow, 4- 10 August 2007 have just announced a change to the
timetable for abstract submissions and papers. The new deadlines are as
follows:

1. December   15, 2006 for abstracts
2. January    15, 2007 for acceptance
3. February   15, 2007 for full papers

If you intend submitting an abstract it should be sent to the organising
committee via the website and by email to Kira Shingareva at the following

Everyone is encouraged to use this opportunity to prepare abstracts in
order to repeat the success of ICC2005 in A Coruña, Spain. On that
occasion we managed to dedicate a whole day to mapping for visually
impaired people and tactile maps won several awards in the cartographic
exhibition. People subscribing to TacNews, the newsletter of the
commission, will not have failed to miss this!
