Wow. Interesting. I'd love to see it. Maybe someday. (I've been needing an
excuse to go to Europe.)

I've had really good results with solarplate. It's really easy to use and
relatively quick -- especially with a black & white image like (I assume)
you're using.
Make an overhead transparency of your image, expose the solarplate (about 4
minutes under ultraviolet light OR 5-8 minutes in direct sunlight) rinse
the
plate and let it dry.

I'm guessing you could make the transparency on a regular photocopier -
though you might need to monkey with the settings a bit. Solarplate has at
least as much relief as Braille paper - maybe more - and it's on metal
plate
so it's durable.
