[accessibleimage] Fwd: RE: Campus Maps

Hi Folks!
Richard Harris at Ball State University is looking for information on how to
make college campus maps accessible to students who are visually impaired as
well as to those who use wheelchairs. Does anyone have any
suggestions/resources to share with him and the Disabled Student Services in
Higher Education list? Thanks in advance for your help. The following is his
request and my offer to forward his request to these lists.

Hi, Richard,
Would you mind if I forward your request to the Accessible Images and Alternate
Media lists? They may have answers for you as well.

Just talked to the webmeister in charge of "fixing" the Ball state Web site
including the campus map. He was good enough to inquire what should be done in
terms of the campus map on the site relative to access issues. Have any of you
had experience with this? If so, can you point us to a nifty map that speaks
well to either wheelchair users or those who are blind or visually impaired.
thanks, Harris
