Hi,
I just made a type of flannelgraph for Tangram with some 5 cm felt ribbon. The felt board is placed flat on the table, instead of the traditional way of using it like a blackboard. The Tangram pieces are made from cardboard backed with the same felt ribbon.The pieces sit pretty good for tactile exploration (friction keeps pieces from moving around) and are easy to pick up.

Has anyone made anything like this, or use flannelgraphs for tactiles?
Imagine can be used to make quick maps, geometry, etc

1. cover board with felt ribbon
2. make cardboard forms, cover back with same felt ribbon

The board doesnt need to be too big. The one I made is 21cm x 17 cm, (8 1/2 in. x 6 1/2 in.)

This is not a new idea but perhaps a twist?
