[accessibleimage] Re: Dream Machine

Here's my quick try, off the top of my head! My dream machine would be able
to produce high quality braille text on the same page as high quality print
text of different colors, and tactile graphics that could have a variety of
textures as well as a variety of heights, smooth shapes, lines and surfaces
that were really continuous rather than dots very close to each other, and
high quality print graphics with a variety of colors on the same page. I
would also like it to be able to produce everything on durable plastic
(thicker and more durable than Swell Paper), be inexpensive and fully
useable by a person who is blind. That is all I can think of offhand this
early in the morning.

I guess I always think software first so I would like something similar to
the ViewPlus IVEO but, instead of having to save an image from the
application being used (a chart from Excel, diagram from Visio, drawing in a
program designed for that, etc.) I'd like to be able to create the image
directly from within the program, just like sending it to a "normal"
printer.

Hi.
Don't know if this is a futile exercise but thought it would be an
idea to put forward - perhaps not real practical
The question is if we could build a machine for making tactile graphics
how would it be? What would it do? What would be in it? What would your
dream machine be like? Produce great graphics and a cappuccino at the
same time?
Some of mine are that it would be cheap, anyones grandmother could use
it and everyone in the whole world could get one, solar powered would be
nice.
What would you like?
Best,
Lisa
