[accessibleimage] Re: Braille with Print

Hi Judy. I generally refrain from commenting on list about ViewPlus
things, because I am not an unbiased observer. However since the PIA has
been shipping for only a couple of months, I'm stepping forward to help a
bit. Don't know whether anybody on this list has the new Pro Ink
Attachment. I've not used the Enabling Technologies ink method, but I did
once read the instructions, and my eyes glazed over. I'd be very
interested in knowing whether any listers have used it and whether I'm
misjudging its user-friendliness.

The PIA should be really easy. You select the ink print mode in the
printer driver dialogue just as you do for any printer, then print. Most
people seem to favor the normal mode. It's a bit slower than draft mode
but gives really good ink copy. There is also a high quality mode for
perfectionists.

Several of the original PIA's that have been shipped have been damaged in
shipping, and we've just improved the design to make it more rugged when
it's dropped out of an airline cargo bay or run over by a 747. Amazing
what's necessary to make products survive shipping. I look forward to the
future when many people on this list are using the PIA and can exchange
tips and tricks.

John
