BlindArt Mission Statement 
BlindArt is an enterprise established to allow blind and partially sighted
people and the public to co-exist in the sighted domain of the visual arts.
BlindArt will endeavour to generate an artistic voice to blind and
partially sighted artists, creating new and challenging opportunities
within the arts.
BlindArt will invite artists from all walks of life to interact with blind
and partially sighted audience in order to understand their requirements.
BlindArt's principle aims are: 
To recognize the enormous potential and to promote artists living with
visual impairment, presenting a whole new perspective that blind and
partially sighted artists could offer the sighted public.
To provide a unique challenge for sighted artists to produce work that
addresses visual impairment.
To organize exhibitions that will enhance the experience of the art world
for blind and partially sighted people: including exploring artwork
through touch, a luxury not necessarily granted within established shows.
To generate publicity by exhibiting in well recognized and high profile
venues and sites.
To donate 10% of its net profits to charitable organizations concerned
with vision to establish art education projects for blind and partially
sighted people.
To fund a permanent BlindArt Collection.

Gary Sargeant - Artist with a visual impairment
Professor Glynn Williams - Head of School of Fine Art. Royal College of Art
Sheri Khayami - Founder of BlindArt and a partially sighted person.
BlindArt invites artists in all media to submit work specifically created
for blind and partially sighted people.
All artists should adopt their own interpretation of this challenge.
BlindArt encourages artists to consent for their work to be touched.
The exhibition will be held at the Royal College of Art from the 1st to
the 6th of March 2005.
The final date for submission is 5 September 2004.
You will be informed whether your work has been selected for the final
short list by 19 September 2004.
Artists are required to send slides and/or photographs
(Max 3) or CD-ROMs together with an application form.
For application form or send an A4 self-addressed envelope.
There is a submission fee of £10 per work per artist payable to BlindArt
Ltd.
All work will be for sale.
Please state prices, inclusive of 40% commission.
There willbe a cash prize of £5000 as well as a purchase prize by BlindArt
Ltd.
