In recognition of the 14th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA), the Technology Administration of the U.S. Department of
Commerce and the U.S. Department of Education will host an Assistive
Technology Exhibit and Policy Forum on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, from 10:00
a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  The purpose of the event is to highlight advances made
in assistive technology with exhibits by over 40 leading companies,
government agencies, and associations advocating for persons with
disabilities, as well as to promote and provide information about
assistive technology.  Key exhibitors and panelists will include
representatives of General Motors, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, and the
Departments of Education, Commerce, Justice, and Defense.  The policy
forum will also feature several panels focusing on emerging technologies
in the field, the market potential of new assistive technology, and
advances in assistive technology for all populations.
