Art History Through Touch and Sound Series

This series, developed by Art Education for the Blind, is a
multisensory learning system for people who are blind or visually
impaired. This multisensory system uses sight, sound, and touch to
convey the richness of the world of art to people who are visually
impaired. Series includes:
The Building Blocks of Art
The Art of Ancient Egypt
African Art
Greek Art: Bronze and Iron Ages
Baroque Art of the 17th Century
European Modernism: 1900-1940
Features:
Diagram Manual with printed images of artworks and corresponding
tactile representations.
Cassette tapes that guide you through the tactile diagrams.
An accessible Teacher's Supplement on a PC-formatted floppy disk.
Includes such items as: text of the audio narrative, art appreciation
activities, and incorporating art into core curricula.
In the Complete Kit, the Teacher's Supplement is provided on floppy
disk only. A Braille Teacher's Supplement is available separately.
Recommended ages: For all ages 8 years and up. Portions of Building
Blocks can be used with students 8 years and up. Teacher-guided study: 8
to 14 years. Independent study: 15+
