[accessibleimage] Art Beyond Sight Online Handbook for Professionals,

Hi, Am forwarding this on from Simon Hayhoe. Sounds
excellent! Best Lisa

Art Education for the Blind is currently developing the Art
Beyond Sight Online Handbook for
Professionals, a supplement to Art Beyond Sight. A Resource
Guide to Art, Creativity and Visual
Impairment

This handbook is being designed for museum and arts
professionals interested in implementing a
program for visitors who are blind or visually impaired. At
the moment we are working on a chapter
titled "Art Program at a School or Community Center for the
Blind", outlining program development
for offsite collaborations between museums and schools, and
would like to call on your experience
and knowledge. In particular, we are interested in practical
tips on materials and methods to use in
this type of programming, techniques or lesson ideas, as
well as logistics tips, such as how to set up
a studio, or funding tips. Through this handbook and other
online resources, we hope to create a
collective resource, where you and your colleagues in
museums, schools and other arts
organizations can go to find information on creating access
to art for people with disabilities of sight,
including blindness and visual impairments.
