What yoru refering to is known as the Product Key that's needed for a 
re-install of Windows XP.

Note:  This is not to be confused witht he Product ID that you can simply 
get on the General tab of the System applet.

I looked for info on this a while back as I wanted to have my info handy and

ended up paying a bit of cash for this handy wee program that will show you 
this info from,

You may be able to see this in the registry as well but at the time I didnt'

have time and love this wee app that shows the info and allows you to copy 
it to the clipboard so you can save to a txt file.
