Hi, in older versions of Windows you have to boot from the floppy. At
least that was the case with Windows Millennium Edition. I think Windows
XP was the first version of Windows to be bootable from a CD. Sorry I
can't be of any help, but try asking your friend to insert his 98
floppy(ies) and the CD-ROM and ask him to follow the prompts displayed at
boot time. Good luck.

doesn't have any sighted help,
