I found that purchasing DiscKeeper made this process virtually instant on my
laptop, rather than taking about 7 seconds.

Take a look at Word's Tools: Templates and Add-ins, and see what you
have in the way of add-ins which might not be required.

Hi all, Word 2003 takes at least 10 seconds to open or close any
document on my desktop. does anyone have any ideas how I can speed
this up? I've got plenty of RAM, disk space and a fast processor. No
other program takes so long.
