BitTorretn should do ya. That's what I use. It involves a bit of jaws cursoring but it's OK.

The download should speed up as people come online.

BitTorrent is a peer2peer file sharing system but it doesn't download from just one source. In order to speed up the peer2peer download, your computer goes off and finds chunks of your desired file on many other computers. It then downloads these chunks simultaneously so you've got several streams of data, in effect, landing on your hard disk.

So, the more people who are online, the more sources you're drawing on, the faster the download.

Hi Adrian,

I am just downloading my first Torrent file with Bit Torrent. It seems to
be accessible enough.

What BT client are people using - I've just signed up successfully for
uknova and installed the official BT client but couldn't quite seem to work
out how to start a download as the first file I clicked on just sat at zero
percent with a very slow dl speed of 21k - was it that file or do I need to
choose a different client?

it's best to keep checking regularly too. i couldn't get registered for most
of yesterday, but finally managed it late last night. they delete inactive
accounts regularly and then it's just a case of filling the available spots.
there's no waiting list as such, it's first come first served. their FAQ
says 75000 members. but when i registered, it was showing as 30000 members
and wasn't allowing further sign ups at the time, so i guess 30000 is the
limit.

Hi Damon,

Thanks for that. I know about Bit Torrent, but I didn't know about
that
site.

first come first served is the criteria ... but currently the doors
aren't
open to new people. Chec back often and try to register. You'll love
it.
