You may have been able to open multiple sessions of I.E.,
but the tabbed feature didn't come in until IE7. MS List it
as a new feature as follows:-
"Tabbed browsing - View multiple sites in a single browser
window. Easily switch from one site to another through tabs
at the top of the browser frame."
It's been in other browsers for a while though.
