Jackie for someone like yourself who has problems with their back I believe this vacuum cleaner would be great. Its an upright and is very light. There is not much to this machine but the suction is powerful. On the long handle there is a fabric casing and inside this is the paper dust bag which initially can be a bit fiddly to change but after a few times it becomes second nature.
