Hi Brendan
Thanks very much for this info, sounds most helpful and kind of what I'm looking for. All joking aside, Ian is very good with the vacuum around the house, but I need something that isn't going to be too heavy for me to push around, and it has to be an upright. Oh but the robotic one does appeal to me in the sense it wanders about by itself. I wonder what long cane training it's had? (smiles.)

Hi Jackie,
I have an Orec! vacuum cleaner
and I would not be with out it, the best that I have ever seen.
Jackie for someone like yourself who has problems with their back I believe this vacuum cleaner would be great. Its an upright and is very light. There is not much to this machine but the suction is powerful. On the long handle there is a fabric casing and inside this is the paper dust bag which initially can be a bit fiddly to change but after a few times it becomes second nature. The only drawback is the price, there are a few different models but I believe they start at about 280 pounds
