Hi Chris.
Thanks for that, I'm by no means a PC beginner, but can you give me any
hints and tips for best customising vista to work with jaws?

Usually when you buy a machine, it's just a case of powering up, wait for
the hard drive to stop spinning, and, in the case of Vista, press Windows
U, which will cause Ease of Access to talk to you. You would then tab one
time, press space, then press enter. This will launch Narrator, which will
in turn help you set up Windows for the first time. After that you can go
ahead and install your screen reader of choice, then remove any bloatware
you have, like Norton, then put your own software on there. Then apply any
Windows updates you no doubt will have, then after all that you'll be in
business. Good luck.

Hi Everyone.
I'm about to get my first Vista machine, a Samsung notebook to be exact.
Since xp is no longer an option for me, I would like to know where I can
find a getting started and quick tips for customising vista to best work
with jaws as well as how to use the built in accessibility features. It
is likely that I will not have any assistance when setting up my laptop,
so I need something that I can use as independently as possible.
