Hi William,

Have you rebooted the phone?  I.e. turned off the phone since you installed?
This also is recommended, but not always necessary.  Which phone is it?

Hi , Yes I turned off talks before installing.  The really puzzling thing
is that the installation appears to be successful.  I have some sight and I
can see that the new version has been installed, in fact I can hear a
hissing sound when I switch the talks on again.  In fact the only thing
that is missing is the fact that it does not speak.
