The problem was that I couldn't stop it from insisting on being my main browser, when I wanted IE -

Andy, like you this is all I use Firefox for, to resolve captures, so what's
the problem.

Hi all -

All this sounds very interesting, just a shame that they go in for the
dreaded capture verification thing; I don't want to install Firefox again,
just to use that other software [whatever it is called] for the capture
thing; hope sometimes soon there'll be a capture killer that works under
IE -

Hi Carol
www.spotify.com
It takes some working out how to use it but so far we've found when it
opens,
type the name of artist, song or year or album and press enter.
shift tab onece, press enter.
If you are lucky the track or album starts playing.
Press control right arrow to move forward a track
control left arrow back a track.
I'm sure there must be more and would be grateful if anyone has any
aditional instructions.

Hi Mandy,

I seem to have missed the beginning of the thread on this one ... Is
this a program for sorting the music you already have or for going
online, finding the track and artist you want and playing for you?

Thanks, if someone could clarify, that would be fine.

As James says: Spotify is fantastic and really easy to use.

Control l and type in name of artist or a year or a song title
whatever you want: enter then shift tab once and enter again and it
will start to play immediately.
If you tab while music plays you can hear title of song also. I am
sure there are things on the screen we can't read but it is easily
useable I love it. I often have it on at a lower volume than Jaws so
I can write email or do whatever I am doing with music in the
background. I have not paid for a premium account there is just an
advert once
every twenty minutes or so and as you only listen not download it
isn't a real problem unless you can afford £7 per month.

Mandy.

Hi
Has anyone used the music download program called spotify from
www.spotify.com
At first glance it isn't accessible unless anyone knows of any
scripts or work arounds?

Yes, it's true. The idea of "wipe free space" is to wipe the disk
space that
was taken up by files you've deleted. Very good if you wish to not
keep confidential data. See, Windows doesn't physically delete a
file; it just simply marks it as such, but it's still hidden on the
hard drive, so the idea of this feature is to wipe the hidden space
taken up by deleted files,
so that it's supposedly extremely difficult to find later on.

If it is true that will be a great pity indeed! Haven't seen
anything about
it myself up to the present.

Thanks for your comments. I'll read the CCleaner documentation and
see what
this is all about.

"I was looking at the latest version of CCleaner
(www.ccleaner.com)... and came across a very interesting option...
"wipe free space"." Unless the wipe process uses two passes or
more of psuedo random
noise it will only deterr the more casual theft of data. It is
possible (at government and national level presently) to posess
the facilities to recover data buried beneath one subsequent write
of data on a hard disk (but not much further). If you really want
data to be safe from others encrypt it.
