There should be a list of hotkeys in the Help menu. In addition to Sumil's directions, after you have selected the region to be deleted, you could press ctrl + K to hear what it will sound like, and do some fine tuning, if necessary.

Assuming the cursor is at the beginning of the section to be deleted,
hit the left bracket key - immediately to the right of the 'p' key.
Press the spacebar to resume the playing of the file and when you get to
the end of the bit you want to delete hit return to stop the playback
and hit the right bracket key to mark the section. Then hit delete.
