If you are using Diskeeper, that would impact on the speed of your machine
for the better.

I'm using jaws v9 on a HP Compaq DV1000 laptop, and XP. I've not noticed
the slightest difference with time taken for jaws to load.
I also use Diskeeper, but don't know whether this makes any difference. I
also do a boot time defrag occasionally, but again, can't say if that
makes
it any quicker.

Billy, I think JAWS 9.0 and subsequent patches or updates certainly seems
to be a bit slower on our XP Home machines, but it's fine with Vista.
That's my view from what I've noticed.

Yeah I also find jaws 9 very slow at start up and I don't have many
programs booting up when my pc boots up as I have removed all that in
msconfig. I definitely find jfw 9 quite slower than jfw 8.0.
