Yeah Ray and then the salesman comes. Last time I asked about Telewest, this horrible bloke banged on the door quite late one night to follow up the vague call I had made. Ian answered it and shouted up to me to come for a minute. When Ian does that I know he wants a hand to get rid of someone, and there ain't anyone better than that in our house. So I stood at the top of the stairs and said: "Right. Thanks mate, but no thanks. Now hop it ta". And he did. I'm very nice as a rule, but these people do my head in, along with some other fanatics who will remain nameless in the event I inadvertently cause offence.

Yes indeed Billy. I get loads of stuff through the door now
exstolling the virtues of a Virgin opical connection. Thing is, the
speeds on offer don't seem that impressive at the moment, though they
make much of the fact the distance from the exchange doesn't matter.

Cheers,

Jackie,
I think you will find, that Telewest has now been taken over by Virgin
Media,

Hi Billy

I don't like capping either, but for a fiver a month, I can't see
even us
three using 40GB.

We have Telewest in our area, which is the equivalent. Haven't
looked
into their prices lately. I know with Sky that we need a BT
landline for
the ADSL service.

Jackie, don't you have Virgin Media in your area?.

I must admit it has been years since I first looked into Sky, and
that
time it was pretty expensive, and you had to have a BT line going
into
your home.
Don't you need such a BT line anymore?.

The only thing I don't like about Sky broadband, is the monthly
cap.
With Virgin Media there is no monthly capping,
Billy
