There is no support for an older version of jaws without the license
transferred. The person would be blowing their money as ilm keys are
quite easily lost and need to be renewed and even a hardware dongle can
become busted or corrupted.
for basic screenreading tasks, nvda from
www.nvda-project.org
is the way to go.

It would depend on whether it would work out cheaper for someone to
buy V8 off me and then upgrade to V12 rather than buying V12 from
scratch. Also, some people may just want an older version to use for
basic tasks.
