Hi Steve, The other work-around is to stick with Version 3.2, until they have fixed the problem. There seem to be no significant advantages in 3.5 from what I can see, except for the video side. Or am I missing something? All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. Unfortunately though, I only record the files as MP2 format, so there's no video with the soundtrack. However, I am certain I have the answer to why you are failing to record the first part of these films but successfully recording the second part. This is due to a major flaw in version 3.5.10 of the software. It's a bit complicated but what is happening is that when digi TV records a new file with the timer, if the system has switched from one multiplex to another to start the recording, it will not save the file. But if the system does not need to switch to a new multiplex it will save the file successfully. So let's say digi TV is tuned to one of the BBC channels and it has to switch to ITV to record the first part of the film, so it won't save the file. But then, when it comes to record the second part of the film, it's already tuned to ITV so it doesn't have to switch multiplexes and will successfully save the second part of the film. However, there is a simple workaround for this problem until the next version of the software is released in a couple of weeks time. Before you make any recording using the timer, set up a previous event a couple of minutes before hand on the channel you want to record and let it run for 2 minutes before hand. For example, if you want to successfully record a programme at 10.30, set up another timer event at 10.27 on the same channel and let it run for 2 minutes. This may or may not fail to be saved, depending on whether the digi TV is already tuned to the right multiplex. But at 10.30, the digi TV will definitely be tuned to the right multiplex, so that recording will be successful. All this sounds complicated but is really straightforward. But if you want to discuss it with me, you can phone me on 01623 466365. Or you can talk to Cash or Alison at Nebula on01689.897090.
