Why can't you just use Winrar for all your compression needs?

Subject: [access-uk] question about compressed zipped folder

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if any of you could help me with a problem I am having with the compressed zipped folder option. Eversince I installed Winrar on my computer, the compressed zipped folder option keeps disappearing from the "send to menu". I Do know the command line I need to type to restore it but everytime I want to use compressed zipped folder, I get a message that .zip is currently not associated with the compressed zipped folder by default and I am asked whether I want to associate this with it or not, to which I reply yes. Yet, once I have zipped something with the compressed zip folder, it has disappeared from the send to menu and every time I wish to use it, I have to restore it. My question is what do I need to do to keep having to restore the option each time I need to use it. Also, I am wondering if this problem has to do with me having win rar installed on my machine. Isn't there a way to use either program? I hope someone can enlighten me on this as I am reall
y not sure what is going on here.
Thanks a lot.
Lyn & Twinnya
