[access-uk] Re: problem running SAPI based speech engines

I have a similar problem. None of my sapi4 voices work even after downloading the necessary exe file. It is baffling me and people who know a lot more about these things than I do. I like to use ibm via voice as my default screen reader voice.

Subject: [access-uk] problem running SAPI based speech engines

Hi

I have tried to open on a machine the speech component of the control panel and I get the following error. I wonder if anyone can please tell me how to rectify this? I have looked on Google but no luck.

Thanks.

An exception occurred while trying to run
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Speech\sapi.cpl",Speech"
OK
