[access-uk] Re: pci slots

Hi.

I would go with what the manufacturer says.  One of those slots may be
an AGP card, or your case may be larger and thus have an extra slot that
doesn't actually go anywhere.

What have you got in those slots anyway, and what are you trying to put
in?

i use a program called everest home edition. very neat little program
for
giving details on your system. not sure whether actually counting them
works
so well, it looks physically like i've got 4 slots, but everest and the
specs on my motherboard from the manufacturers site says there's 3.

The simplest way is by taking the cover off and counting
them.  However, if that's not possible or practical, run
Belarc Advisor, find out the make and model of the
Motherboard, and look up the manufacturer's site.
